Garland of hearts

I am a sucker for a good garland. And actually change them out with the seasons, and occasionally for the holidays. I blame simple abundance, for the idea that each day we can make our lives just a little more beautiful by doing simple things that bring beauty and joy to our lives. So along with the myriad of things I already was doing, changing out my garland and candles really brings me joy. So when I saw this idea, I just couldn’t help myself, so away I went to creating my hearts.


I had no thought in my head as to what they would turn out like, I thought about just copying their hearts, but came up with my own ideas that I really love. I finished the hearts this morning, and will attach them as soon as I drag out the sewing machine, or I may just sew them on by hand to ecru colored grosgrain. I am suppressing my perfectionist side and not finishing them with a blanket stitch, because then I won’t have them done by February first. They are just fine as is, and really I am pleased with them.
